N-BA Hosts Successful Family Health Fair in Partnership with LiveWell Initiative LWI

When it comes to Nigeria and Britain, we avail you the best networks and opportunities for who or what you aspire to become, delivered on a social and relaxed environment.

The Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) successfully hosted its Family Health Fair on Saturday, 28th March 2026, at the British Council Nigeria, bringing together members, families, health professionals, school students, and guests for a day dedicated to promoting wellness, preventive healthcare, and healthy living.

The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. with an engaging and insightful health talk delivered by Dr. Bisi Bright on the theme “Attaining Boisterous Health.” The session, which lasted over 40 minutes, addressed several important health and lifestyle topics including stress management, anger management, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer awareness, infectious diseases, sexual networks, and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. The presentation was supported with visual aids, creating an interactive and impactful learning experience for attendees.

In his remarks, the N-BA President, Mr. Sola Oyetayo, commended the team from LiveWell Initiative LWI for their commitment and outstanding support towards the successful delivery of the programme. He also reiterated the importance of prioritising personal health and wellbeing while expressing appreciation to British Council Nigeria for providing the venue for the initiative.

The Health Fair was organised in partnership with LiveWell Initiative LWI, a reputable non-governmental organisation committed to advancing community health, wellness education, and sustainable healthcare interventions. Notably, the entire event, including the medical outreach support and health services provided during the programme, was fully funded by LiveWell Initiative LWI at no cost to the Association. This partnership reflects the value of strategic collaboration in delivering impactful community-focused initiatives.

Following the health talk session, attendees proceeded to the fruit and nutrition section, which featured an elaborate healthy living display with a variety of fresh fruits including strawberries, kiwi, mangoes, pineapples, apples, grapes, watermelon, and bananas. Various healthy meal options such as pasta salad and Greek salad were also available, reinforcing the importance of nutrition and balanced lifestyle choices.

The Health Fair featured eight wellness and healthcare sections, including dental care, eye health, nutrition, fitness, and general medical screenings. Participants benefited from professional consultations, health checks, wellness counselling, and educational interactions aimed at encouraging preventive healthcare and healthier living habits.

The programme also witnessed youth participation, with Lekki British International School attending the event alongside staff members and 10 students who actively participated in the various health screening activities. Refreshments were also provided for the students during the programme.

Beyond its healthcare objectives, the event also served as a platform for engagement and community building. The programme attracted prospective members, including a British national who expressed interest in joining the Association and has since been engaged by the Secretariat. Several other attendees also indicated interest in becoming members of N-BA, further reflecting the Association’s growing relevance and impact.

The successful hosting of the N-BA Family Health Fair highlights the Association’s increasing commitment to social impact programming, community wellbeing, and strategic partnerships that align with broader development and sustainability goals.

Through initiatives such as this, the Nigeria-Britain Association continues to strengthen people-to-people connections between Nigeria and the United Kingdom while creating meaningful impact through health, education, youth engagement, and community development initiatives.

N-BA remains committed to expanding similar programmes through collaborations, partnerships, and institutional support aimed at improving lives and strengthening communities across Nigeria.
